About

Nampa Parks & Recreation Youth Programs offers a wide range of activities, including Horticulture Workshops, Little Gardeners, Spring League Softball, Spring Dance Camps, Gymnastics Classes, ENKIDS STEM Classes, and Homeschool P.E. Participants can also take part in Swim Lessons, Spring Break Tennis Camp, PGA Jr. League Golf, Golf Family Fun Nights, E-Sports Nintendo Switch tournaments, and Youth Strength Training. Additional options include art and creative programs such as Art Workshops, Art Sampler, Bob Ross Style Painting, Card Making Workshop, Basket Weaving, Culinary for Kids, Cookie Decorating, and Chess for Kids, as well as events and outings like Kids Night Out - Glow Night, Spring Sports Madness for Moms and Sons, Puzzle Fest, Bogus Basin Snowshoeing, a Warhawk Museum visit, Family Fun Fridays, Open Kayaking, Splash N' Dash, and Food Truck Rally Goes to the Dogs.

• Ages: 1–18 years old
• Schedule: Golf Family Fun Nights are held every Saturday and Sunday after 4pm; Family Fun Fridays take place on the 1st and 2nd Friday of every month with extended slide and diving well hours until 9pm and the top rope climbing wall open from 5–9pm; Open Kayaking runs January through April on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 7:30–9:30pm; Spring Break Tennis Camp runs March 16–19th.

PGA Jr. League Golf teams are coached by PGA professionals and use a two-person scramble format with numbered jerseys. Golf Family Fun Nights have some youth golf clubs available for use. Spring Sports Madness for Moms and Sons includes pizza, basketball, dodgeball, fun games, a photo booth, and encourages participants to wear their favorite sports team gear. Kids Night Out - Glow Night includes pizza, swimming, and a Glow Night theme with black lights, and participants are encouraged to dress in neon or white. Puzzle Fest uses identical 500-piece puzzles and includes snacks. The E-Sports tournament series featuring Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Smash Bros Ultimate is intended to be fun and includes many levels of skill.

Red Cross Lifeguard Training offered in March and April has prerequisites that include a 200-yard swim using front crawl and breaststroke, retrieval of a 10-pound brick from 7 feet of water, and two minutes of treading water with no hands. CPR/AED and First Aid Class participants are issued a 2-year certification through the American Red Cross upon successful completion. Open Kayaking is limited to 6 kayaks, and participants reserve a spot up to 2 days in advance by calling the front desk at 208-468-5777. Basket Weaving, Bob Ross Style Painting, Art Sampler, Culinary for Kids, and Cookie Decorating all include or provide all needed materials, tools, or ingredients, and Cookie Decorating teaches piping techniques such as outlining, flooding, and intricate designs. Gymnastics Classes are available for ages 18 months to 18 years old and offer a new student discount. The Harward Rec Center elevator is temporarily closed for maintenance.

Nampa Parks & Recreation states the mission, “Good things happen when people and parks come together.” The department partners with various food vendors for a variety of events and works with affiliates to help serve the community’s needs.
