Howe’s Park was built over 30 years ago as an 11-acre park and includes colorful modern playground equipment furnished by the FRED Ethyl Grant, four baseball/softball diamonds, a rolle bolle court, and a horse shoes pit. Soccer leagues are offered for children from pre-school (age four) through fifth grade every spring and fall, and summer little league baseball and softball programs are offered for children who have completed kindergarten through 9th grade. The Summer Recreation Program is supervised by a group of counselors. Fields are available to host tournaments or events based on availability.

The Annawan Park District Committee members include Terry Roesbeck and Brent Heitzler. The stated mission is that youth sports are a community cornerstone and that health and wellness is important to childhood growth. League play is organized and directed by volunteers, and coaching assistance, encouragement, and support are provided to all children participating in the soccer and summer little league baseball and softball programs. A park donation fund has been set up for anyone wishing to make a tax deductible donation to a future community gathering spot offering accessible health and wellness, fitness, sport, and recreational space for all ages and abilities.
