A Child's Place Early Learning Center - Antioch, 1410 Deep Lake Rd, Antioch, IL 60002
About
A Child's Place Early Learning Center Summer Camp includes creative arts and design, hands-on STEM activities, dramatic play and storytelling, art projects, science experiments, outdoor play, group games, and special enrichment experiences. Campers also take part in field trips, including in-house field trips, off-site field trips, and on-site experiences, and school-age children can receive homework assistance.
• Ages: 0–12 years old
• Schedule: Camp begins in early June, with program hours available Monday through Friday, 6:30am–6:00pm
Experienced, caring teachers trained in early childhood education lead the program, and the camp follows a Summer of Imagination curriculum with more than 20 weekly themes. Current families have priority registration through February 27, and all campers receive a t-shirt, while school-age campers receive a kit that includes a t-shirt, backpack, and ID wristband. Families receive daily digital communication, including photos of children’s activities and updates during meal and nap time, and the program offers parent-teacher conferences. A Child’s Place Early Learning Center provides curriculum-based childcare for children from 6 weeks to school-age through full-time daycare programs only and offers certain daycare discounts, including employee, sibling, and corporate partner savings. Most families pack a labeled water bottle, sunscreen, and a change of clothes, and children are asked to wear closed-toe shoes, comfortable clothing, and their camp t-shirt on field trip days, with school-age families receiving additional reminders for field trip days. Kirsten Van Es-Hess serves as Center Director for A Child’s Place Antioch and has 36 years in the field, and she has had strong connections with the local ski hill at Wilmot Mountain teaching young children how to ski for over ten years.
