About
Aurora Township Youth & Community Center Programs offer a variety of recreational and educational activities, including table games, computers, open gym, volleyball, soccer, video games, arcade games, and basketball. Children and youth can attend after school and in the summer to take part in these activities and programs. Summer Camp registration opened March 10, 2025, and capacity is limited for Summer Camp.
• Ages: 7–18 years old
• Schedule: The center is open Monday through Saturday.
• Price: Your child is not fully enrolled until or unless (1) the registration packet is fully completed, (2) a copy of your child’s birth certificate is received, AND (3) payment is made in full.
Aurora Township has been serving residents since 1849 and serves approximately 150,000 residents within its stated township boundaries. Registration is required for programs, with specific forms for the After School Program, Sports Registration, and a Summer Camp Application Packet. Youth and Community Center employees include Jennifer Haurykiewicz (Human Resources Coordinator and Interim Director of Community Services), Celia Valdez (Administrative Assistant), Ashley Jackson (Youth Outreach Worker), Richard Nelson (Lead Youth Worker), Julisa Borjon (Assistant Youth Worker), Bertha Delgado (Youth Worker), Jesus Garcia-Lopez (Youth Worker), Elijah Palmer (Youth Worker), Arenia Williams (Youth Worker), and Alma Zambrano (Youth Worker). The Youth Commission Advisory Board members are Paul Patricoski (Chairperson), Diane Christian (Vice-Chairperson), James Brown, Paul Heinkel, State Representative Barbra Hernandez, Dolores Hicks (Aurora Township Board of Trustees), Jason Owens (Aurora Township Highway Commissioner), Doug Postlewaite, Ricky Rodgers, Marie Wendt, Mary Garza, Alicia Hann, and Jennifer Haurykiewicz (Human Resources Coordinator/Interim Director of Community Services).
