Aurora University Youth Soccer Camps offer soccer specific activities for young players in two camp groups called MINI SPARTANS and FUTURE SPARTANS. MINI SPARTANS uses soccer specific activities for younger children, while FUTURE SPARTANS emphasizes skill development and introduces the tactical side of soccer for players wanting to gain an edge in their game while still emphasizing skill development in a fun environment.
• Ages: 4–14 years old
• Schedule: Week-long half-day camp hosted June 12–16, with MINI SPARTANS meeting 9:00–10:00 a.m. and FUTURE SPARTANS meeting 9:00 a.m.–Noon
• Price: MINI SPARTANS (4–6 year olds / Pre-K–1st grade): $70. FUTURE SPARTANS (7–14 year olds / 2nd–8th grade): $120.
The AU Youth Soccer Camp’s stated focus is that campers receive specialized training from instructors who have played and coached at a variety of competitive club and collegiate levels. The mission notes that campers gain knowledge of technique and tactics in an enjoyable atmosphere that combines individual skills with team play, and that they develop techniques and foot skills necessary to succeed at any level of competitive or recreational soccer.
