The Bataille Academie of the Danse was created in 1969 by Leona Bataille. Dee Dee Johnson took over the studio in 1988. The mission of the Bataille Academie of the Danse is to energetically educate dancers through love and discipline in a fun, diverse, and professional environment that is recognized for its commitment to the growth and development of every dancer, viewing each of them as both artists and people. The mission also states that instructors work to improve techniques and teaching styles, that each class works towards performance opportunities and is taught around the individual needs of participating students, and that all are welcome if they are hard-working, dedicated, and passionate about sharing the joy of dance. Resilience Camp is open to all Bataille dancers in 3rd–8th grade.
