Combo 1 incorporates fun and creative ways to teach children the basic fundamentals of dance and tumbling, and children must be at least 3 years old and potty trained to join this class; in Combo 1, tumbling may be replaced with creative movement, which can change throughout the year. Combo 2 is an extension of Combo 1 and replaces creative movement with jazz, and Combo 3 can be used as a transition into competition. Stretch and Conditioning combines cardio and strength conditioning while teaching key stretching exercises, and Leaps and Turns focuses on the technical execution of leaps and turns.
The Studio by Kat Wilson is led by Studio Director Kat Wilson. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Dance, with a concentration in jazz, from Point Park University and has been performing and teaching within the dance community for nearly 20 years. Her experience includes performing with Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and The American Dance Company, judging for national competitions, and teaching multiple styles of dance classes across the country. Students she has worked with throughout the years have won several awards regionally and nationally.
The Studio by Kat Wilson states that it is rooted in Kat’s belief that studying dance serves students throughout their lives, and its mission is to help students grow into poised, well-rounded young women and men who are dedicated to succeeding not only in dance but also in their lives beyond The Studio. All students perform in an annual Spring Recital, and the studio performs at local and national competitions throughout the year. The Studio by Kat Wilson has been in operation since at least 2019.
