Foss Swim School - Bolingbrook offers swim lessons, including baby swim classes, group swim lessons, once-a-week group lessons, and Progress Builder Swim Camps. Foss Swim School - Bolingbrook operates with 91-degree pools that are purpose-built for learning, with warm water, clean air and water, and well-designed showers and family changing spaces. Parents can sit and observe their swimmers right by the pool or in a large, air conditioned lobby, and the school offers private changing areas. Sessions are offered by quarter rather than on-going, with a natural cadence that includes breaks between quarters.
The program follows a Swim Path curriculum that breaks down basics into simple parts such as enjoying water, floating, flipping to breathe, and the standard strokes, and teachers personalize learning based on each student’s comfort level, learning style, and personality. Teachers stay with their classes for the full quarter, and the school focuses only on swimming rather than offering multiple activity types. Families that swim with Foss Swim School are considered part of the FOSS family.
Foss Swim School was founded in 1993, and the same leaders have been with the school for over 30 years. The Bolingbrook location’s leadership team includes General Manager Lauren N., Assistant Manager Gaby L., and co-founders Jon and Susan Foss. The mission of Foss Swim School is to provide a lifetime of confidence and safety around water while creating fun and memorable connections for families and team members, delivering quality service, striving for uncompromised safety, and pursuing excellence while providing twice as many quality swim lessons every five years, with a goal to grow, challenge, innovate, and lead in the swimming space.
FOSS in the Community includes scholarships and FOSS activities. Parent testimonials describe friendly and professional staff, baby swim classes for very young children, and once-a-week group lessons across a summer quarter, as well as experiences in two-week camps and ongoing weekly lessons. Parents also note being able to observe lessons from poolside or from the cooled lobby and mention a small shop at the front for items that may have been forgotten.
