Kankakee River State Park Riding Stables

Kankakee River State Park Riding Stables offers riding lessons, trail rides guided by experienced wranglers, hand-led horse and pony rides, cowboy themed birthday parties, scouting activities, carriage rides, and volunteer opportunities. Riding lessons are individual and last about 60 minutes, with occasional or weekly lessons available. Lessons cost $45 per class and are open to riders age 5 and older, with no age limit.

Lessons are individual for approximately 60 minutes. There is no long-term commitment; occasional lessons or weekly lessons are available. Learning to ride takes time and riders progress at their own pace. Riders are not moved forward until it is safe. Lessons are given in the arena and practiced on the trails when the student is ready.
