Clinton County YMCA Summer Day Camp includes outdoor games, crafts, swimming, board game tournaments, carnival games, backyard challenges, basketball, soccer, and sand volleyball. Campers also take part in sports-themed crafts, team-building activities, bubbling scientific experiments, expressive art projects, water games, aquatic challenges, and making quick and easy recipes.
• Ages: 5–15 years old
• Schedule: Weekly camps from May 18–August 3, with camp hours 8:00 am–5:00 pm; Counselor-in-Training program runs weekly with hours 8:45 am–4:00 pm and a minimum commitment of 4 weeks
• Price: Weekly rates are $125 for Y members and $160 for non-members; Week 2 (May 26–29) is $100 for members and $128 for non-members; the Counselor-in-Training program costs $50 per week
Swimming is included two times per week and scheduled field trips are included for ages 5–12 during traditional camp weeks. The Counselor-in-Training program is for teens ages 13–15 and gives them hands-on experience working with campers while building leadership, responsibility, and confidence. When families register online for Summer Day Camp, they can indicate any needs their child may have and the branch will email more information and required forms.
The camp leadership includes Brittany as Camp Director, and Brittany Kuhl as the contact for the Counselor-in-Training program. The YMCA states that everyone should have the chance to be part of the Y irrespective of their financial means, and financial assistance is supported by contributions to the YMCA Annual Campaign. Inclusion and adaptive programs with trained staff and accessible spaces are available to help ensure camp opportunities for every child.
