Brimfield JFL offers flag football, tackle football, and cheerleading within the Junior Football League of Central Illinois framework. The program includes both non-contact flag football and full-contact tackle football, along with cheerleading activities connected to the league.
• Ages: 8–14 years old
• Schedule: Flag football practices start August 11 from 6:00–7:00 p.m., meeting Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday for the first four weeks, then Tuesday and Thursday for the rest of the season; tackle football practices run Monday through Thursday, with the first two weeks in helmets only and no pads.
Brimfield JFL is affiliated with JFLOCI (Junior Football League of Central Illinois), whose office is located at 506 E. Marietta, Peoria Heights, IL 61616. The organization uses the TEAMSNAP text system, and participants are automatically enrolled in this system. Flag football players wear shorts and T-shirts for every practice, and tackle football players wear only helmets, shorts, and T-shirts for the first two weeks of practice with no pads. The program’s stated mission is to provide a recreational, educational, and competitive program by structuring players’ ages and weights to account for different physical and mental maturity levels, and it is dedicated to the safety and enjoyment of the young athletes who participate. Brimfield JFL lists Monte Kenney as Director, with the Assistant Director and Fundraiser Director positions currently open. Brimfield JFL is a proud member of JFLOCI, and JFLOCI partners with local high schools to host yearly training clinics for first-year coaches and an online clinic for all coaches.
