Counselors at Burbank Park District Day Camps are CPR/AED certified and are described as highly trained, creative, and energetic. The Burbank Park District operates under the mission statement “Where Fitness and Recreation Become One.” The Burbank Park District was first established as the Stickney Township Park District in 1955 and was incorporated as the Burbank Park District in 1970, and the Fusion Recplex, which is part of the district, opened on September 7, 2013. The Fusion Recplex was funded in part by a grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources’ Parks and Recreation Facility Construction Grant Program and provides jobs as part of the more than 200 positions the Burbank Park District offers in the community.

Fusion Recplex is described as a state-of-the-art facility and the district’s administrative hub, with a full-sized basketball court that can also be used for volleyball and indoor floor sports and can be rented for birthday party bouncy houses and laser tag. It includes a 4,000+ square foot fitness center, a 1/16 mile walking track, locker rooms with showers and steam rooms, two 1,000 square foot multipurpose rooms, a 2,000 square foot aerobics room that also serves as a rentable space, and a kid’s zone, along with eighteen 32" flat screen TVs and free Wi‑Fi. Fusion Recplex sells yearly memberships and day passes. Newcastle Park spans 16.2 acres and includes five softball/baseball fields, basketball courts, soccer and football fields, a playground, and a Recreation Center with two 2,000-square-foot rooms available for rent, and the District also maintains five gazebo locations at Owens, Stevenson, Fitzgerald, Harr, and Nottingham Parks that are available for rent. Burbank Water Park is a seasonal summertime facility located next to the Fusion Recplex.

Parents are instructed to send a lunch, reusable water bottle, swim suit, towel, and sunblock with the camper each day. Gym shoes and socks are mandatory, and all personal belongings should be labeled.
