CervantesKids Spanish Courses are offered through Instituto Cervantes, a non-profit organization founded by the Government of Spain in 1991. Online registration is available for these Children Spanish Courses for 2026, and an online placement test is available for students who already know some Spanish.

Instituto Cervantes is guided by a mission to promote Spanish language teaching, including Spain’s co-official languages, and to foster knowledge of the cultures of Spanish-speaking countries throughout the world. In Chicago, the Institute collaborates with museums, galleries, theaters, publishers, and other cultural institutions from Illinois, as well as institutions from Spain and Latin America. Instituto Cervantes is recognized as an organization of reference around the world for the training of teachers of Spanish as a second language and offers professional development classes for teachers of Spanish. It organizes the DELE (Spanish as a Foreign Language Exams) and issues official Spanish language certificates and diplomas to its students. The Institute supports Spanish language and culture researchers and promotes cultural activities and events together with other organizations. Instituto Cervantes is present in over 70 cities in 40 countries across five continents, and its work is guided by representatives of the scholarly, cultural, and literary communities of Spain and Hispanic America. Membership is available with savings on courses, events, and exclusive benefits.
