About

Codeverse offers on-demand educational coding activities, mini coding challenges, and self-guided Missions where kids build their own apps and games in the interactive Codeverse Studio. The program also includes camps, live group classes, and StarCourses delivered through Varsity Tutors' platform. Kids use a real programming language called KidScript® along with developer tools, a friendly code editor, and features like hints, syntax autocompletion, and real-time error messages to create projects that work on any mobile device.

• Ages: 6–18 years old

Codeverse is described as an award-winning creativity platform for kids ages 6+, with a mission to inspire and empower kids to bring their ideas to life while developing skills that last a lifetime. Expert coders provide live instruction through Varsity Tutors' platform, and ages 6–9 receive live, personalized instruction from a certified Guide. Ages 10+ can increase rank, unlock advanced coding challenges, collaborate with peers and Guides, and publish projects to the App Store.

The Codeverse Studio includes a full library of on-demand coding activities ranging from Beginner to Pro, Missions that introduce concepts like variables, methods, loops, and conditionals, and a large library of familiar objects such as animals, shapes, and food. KidScript® follows common concepts from professional languages such as Ruby, JavaScript, Java, C++, and Python, and uses a strict, easy-to-understand syntax. Kids can pause and inspect running projects, step through code execution, and even reverse execution to inspect prior code behavior.

Codeverse uses a rank system with levels Codeling, Engineer, Pilot, Specialist, and Commander, where kids earn points and badges based on how they create and learn. At Rank 01 (Codeling), kids are introduced to basic coding concepts and build their first mobile game or app; at Rank 02 (Engineer), they learn topics like Import Classes, Var Statements, and RGB Color; at Rank 03 (Pilot), they work with text variables, random numbers, and basic loops; at Rank 04 (Specialist), they learn lists, conditionals, and advanced physics methods; and at Rank 05 (Commander), they learn advanced topics like for loops, index variables, and trigonometry methods. Beginner through Pro Missions cover a progression from basic methods and events up to advanced math methods, pro physics methods, index variables, and advanced for loops.

The platform includes Community Games where kids can find apps and games made by other kids, and projects can be shared with friends and family, made public so other Codeverse kids can find, play, and fork creations, and submitted to the App Store. It is described as safe and secure for kids under 13, with automated and manual moderation of content, no direct communication between users, and an option to change a profile to private at any time. Parents can access their child’s profile to track progress, view content, and see social connections.

Through Varsity Tutors' platform, kids can attend camps, live group classes, and StarCourses. According to the program, kids have created over 500,000 projects in Codeverse Studio.

Testimonials describe the program as teaching critical skills while being enjoyable, and praise KidScript® as a way for kids to learn to code. Parents report that their children enjoy creating games and apps, sharing work with family and teachers, and engaging in one-on-one online classes with instructors they like. Kids in the testimonials mention feeling proud when their code works, enjoying animation options like stars twinkling and jewels glimmering, and liking the ability to make games, challenges, and share them with others.
