About

Girls in the Game offers girls the chance to take part in sports such as soccer, lacrosse, volleyball, golf, yoga, and triathlon. The program uses a model called Sports-Based Youth Development (SBYD), with curriculum, coach training, and safe space practices that center social and emotional development over athletic development. Participants can try a variety of sports in a friendly, non-competitive environment.

• Ages: 7–18 years old

Girls in the Game offers sports, health, and leadership programs in partnership with schools, parks, and community centers in Chicago. Its mission statement is that every girl finds her voice, discovers her strength and builds confidence through fun and active sports, health and leadership programs. Programs include after school programs, a summer camp, clinics, one-time programs and teen programs. The organization offers evidence-based health and leadership curriculum to outside partners through All in for Girls. Girls in the Game welcomes LGBTQ+ youth and gender-expansive participants regardless of gender identity or expression, and creates programs where girls are safe to be vulnerable, build resilience, and explore who they are and who they want to be. It also expands its Charity Race Team internationally, including World Marathon Majors like Tokyo and Berlin 2027, and hosts the Annual Chip in for Girls Golf Outing at Harborside International Golf Center.
