Woori Taekwondo & Hapkido Academy Chicago offers Taekwondo and Hapkido classes, including a Kids Taekwondo program, a Teen & Adult Taekwondo program, and family classes where family members train together. Instructors at the academy are highly skilled and experienced in teaching Korean martial arts, and classes are led by master instructors who hold a 4th degree black belt or higher and have years of training and teaching experience. Each location has certified instructors, with masters assisted by additional Black Belt staff members. Senior Master Jinwon Jang leads the program and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education from Keimyung University (1996–2003). His background includes serving as Captain of the Daegu Taekwondo Association Demonstration Team (2000–2002) and membership on the Keimyung University Taekwondo Demonstration Team (1996–1997). His credentials include a 5th Dan in Taekwondo authorized by the Taekwondo Association Kukkiwon (2004), International referee class P-1 by the Taekwondo Association Kukkiwon (2008), referee class B National by the US Taekwondo Union (2003), and multiple Taekwondo instructor certifications from Korean national bodies (1998 and 2003).
Senior Master Jang has also received the Presidential Sports Award from the President of the United States of America (2003) and has earned multiple competition results, including 1st place black belt Poomse division at the 11th USNTF International Taekwondo Championship (2003) and 1st place in the heavyweight forms division at the 12nd annual U.S. Open Taekwondo Championship (2003). His earlier competitive record includes several 1st and 2nd place finishes in feather, light, and welter weight divisions at Taekwondo contests and sports festivals in Korea between 1997 and 1999.
The academy offers a free trial class.
