Woori Taekwondo & Hapkido Academy Chicago offers Taekwondo classes, Hapkido classes, and family classes. The program includes Little Tigers classes for preschoolers and kindergartners, a Kids Taekwondo program, a Teen & Adult Taekwondo program, Hapkido self-defense training using punches, kicks, throws, and joint locks, and special classes for toddlers and seniors. Classes include a thorough stretching routine, matted flooring, and the use of protective safety equipment.

Senior Master Jinwon Jang leads the program and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education from Keimyung University in Daegu, South Korea (1996–2003). Instructors are highly skilled and experienced in teaching Korean martial arts, and classes are led by master instructors who hold a 4th degree black belt or higher, with additional Black Belt staff members assisting. Each location has a staff of certified instructors who supervise, teach, and motivate students on their Taekwondo journey. Senior Master Jang holds a 5th Dan in Taekwondo authorized by the Taekwondo Association Kukkiwon (2004), achieved International referee class P-1 by the Taekwondo Association Kukkiwon (2008), and holds referee class B National from the US Taekwondo Union (2003). He has Taekwondo instructor certifications from the Minister of Culture & Tourism (3rd class, 2003) and from the Taekwondo Association Kukkiwon (3rd class qualification, 1998).

The academy states that it is dedicated to helping students develop their martial arts skills to their fullest potential while providing a safe and friendly training environment. It describes an atmosphere of respect, discipline, camaraderie, and a family-like environment where students of all ages and skill levels can learn Taekwondo and Hapkido while increasing their physical and mental strength. The program offers a free trial class.

Senior Master Jang has received multiple recognitions, including the 2003 Presidential Sports Award by the President of the United States of America. His competition record includes first place in black belt Poomse at the 11th USNTF International Taekwondo Championship (2003), first place in the heavyweight forms division at the 12th annual U.S. Open Taekwondo Championship (2003), second place in the featherweight division at the 38th Annual Gyeongnam Sports Festival (1999), second place in the lightweight division at the 2nd Taekwondo contest sponsored by the Mayor of Daegu Metropolitan City (1998), first place in welterweight at the 3rd Tryout for Representative Player of the 79th Athletic Mass Meeting of Citizen (1998), and several second-place finishes in welterweight and featherweight divisions in Daegu-area contests in 1997.
