The CYC has trained members of the Character Counts Initiative, which emphasizes trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, citizenship, and caring. Town President Larry Dominick continues to be a staunch supporter of the CYC.
The CYC is a five-time recipient of the Illinois Governor’s “Hometown Award” and the recipient of the Children’s Center “Hold My Hand Award.” The CYC works in collaboration with Cicero School District 99, Dominican University, Military Families of Cicero United, Boys Club of Cicero, UCP Seguin, Our Lady of Charity, St. Frances of Rome, Boy Scouts of America, and Project Night Night. Blankets made in the CYC “Comfy Covers” Program have been donated to an orphanage in Ecuador, a hospital in Guatemala, the President’s Office for persons with disabilities, Project Night Night, and to veterans after recently serving their tour of duty for the U.S.
