Darien Youth Club was formed in 1960 by parents to serve the children of Darien, Illinois and its surrounding area. It is a volunteer-run, 501-C3, non-for-profit club that is 100% volunteer run. The club serves young athletes from all of DuPage County and is open to residents of any community. According to its mission, DYC provides an environment where all kids play, maintains the spirit of competition with a focus on sportsmanship and teamwork, and offers a low cost youth sports alternative available to local families. The mission also states that the club focuses on teaching and growing in sports through play and clinics, offers both in-house and travel team play, and describes DYC as a club for every child for as long as it exists. DYC parent-coaches strive to teach children the skills and rules of every sport offered while providing a positive playing experience for every player on the court or field.
