About
Art Classes offers a variety of art activities, including an Oil & Acrylic Painting Class with Stuart Roddy, other art classes, workshops, and opportunities to be around art exhibitions and small live concerts. The Oil & Acrylic Painting Class meets every Tuesday for six weeks from 5:30–8 p.m. All of the art classes are offered on a six-week cycle, and families can register for six classes and use them as they wish.
• Schedule: Six-week art class cycles, including an Oil & Acrylic Painting Class that meets Tuesdays from 5:30–8 p.m.
• Price: Oil & Acrylic Painting Class with Stuart Roddy: $99 members and $125 non-members
The program takes place in a fine arts center that offers a main gallery level with a wide variety of art exhibitions and space that can be rented for events, as well as a lower level used for special exhibitions, art classes, and workshops. The organization states that its goal is to nurture, develop, educate, foster the arts, and galvanize artists and patrons within the community, and its Board of Directors states that diversity, equity, and inclusion are important parts of its mission and of healthy communities. It describes itself as a safe space where artists and patrons have access to its art resources and where varied histories, voices, and life experiences are honored, with no room for prejudice or discrimination in the organization. The organization also states that it is making a difference in Dixon through juried art exhibitions, art classes, and small, intimate concerts, and that it relies on community support to keep its programs active.
