About
Black Hawk College Youth Programs offers robotics and coding classes, youth classes, youth summer camps for 3rd-5th graders, and College for Kids. The youth programs include classes and summer camps that invite creativity and are designed to inspire students to learn more about the arts, languages, science/math and technology.
• Schedule: Class and camp options are offered in different formats, including in-person, online and hybrid, with multiple start dates.
Black Hawk College’s mission is to inspire students, develop talent, and strengthen communities. The youth programs are part of a broader community role in which Black Hawk College provides opportunities and resources for individuals and businesses. The college’s athletic teams compete in the NJCAA Arrowhead Conference. The college is led by President Dr. Jeremy L. Thomas. CommUniversity, a related Black Hawk College program for adults 18 and older, has operated since 1979 and offers classes in arts/humanities, personal enrichment, regional studies, and theology/spirituality. One student described the college experience by saying that the small size means big opportunity, with direct support from professors who know students by name.
