Black Hawk College’s mission is to inspire students, develop talent, and strengthen communities. PaCE instructors are a diverse group of professionals. Black Hawk College has been a participant in this work since 1946 and operates within Illinois Community College District #503. Athletic teams at Black Hawk College compete in the NJCAA Arrowhead Conference, and the college offers extracurricular options such as student government, athletics teams, competitive agricultural teams, and music programs. Black Hawk College’s impact reaches beyond the classroom through special purpose and community outreach programs. Since 1979, thousands of students have participated in CommUniversity, which offers classes in areas such as arts/humanities, personal enrichment, regional studies, and theology/spirituality for anyone 18 and older. The college is led by Dr. Jeremy L. Thomas, President of Black Hawk College. Emily, an East Campus student for 2024-26, states that the small size means big opportunity and that students shape ideas and lead with direct support from professors who know them by name.
