Drive Goalkeeping Camps are led by Founder Tom Paparounis, whose curriculum is based on more than 20 years of coaching and playing experience at the youth, collegiate, and professional levels. The training programs follow a coaching methodology that draws from his study with goalkeeper coaches from around the United States and Europe and takes into account age-appropriate coaching standards from the United States Soccer Federation and United Soccer Coaches. Drive Goalkeeping states that it has a track record of developing athletes through a training environment that prepares players for the technical, tactical, physical, mental, and social demands of the goalkeeper position while considering each player’s unique learning style.

Parents and players describe the sessions as rigorous, customized to individual needs, challenging, and impactful. One parent notes that Tom’s background as a keeper and as a trainer of collegiate-level players gives him insight into challenges and new developments in the soccer community. Former and current players report that Tom taught them basic technical skills at a young age, that they continue to train with him into their college and professional careers, and that Drive Goalkeeping gives goalkeepers tools to be technically sound and confident in all areas of goalkeeping. Parents also report that he provides detailed individual advice on how to address weaknesses and that he focuses on both skill development and mental development. A professional goalkeeper who has trained with and worked for Drive Goalkeeping describes the training as dynamic, competitive, and having a clear purpose.
