Academy of Self Defense offers Little Ninjas PreSkills Martial Arts for ages 3.5-5, with Jiu-Jitsu, kickboxing, and work on balance, coordination, fine motor skills, focus, and self-discipline. It also offers Kids MMA/BJJ for ages 5 and up, Kids and Teen Classes, Adult Martial Arts Classes, Womens Kickboxing Classes, Self Defense Seminars, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Kickboxing, Thai Boxing, Jujitsu, and traditional martial arts forms.

Programs

• Little Ninjas PreSkills Martial Arts — Ages 3.5-5 · Kids learn fundamentals of self-defense, including Jiu-Jitsu and Kickboxing; balance, coordination, fine motor skill development, focus, and self-discipline.
• Kids MMA/BJJ — 5+ · Kids program focused on growth socially, physically, and mentally, and learning proper temperament and discipline.
• Kids and Teen Classes — Children's martial arts classes designed to foster discipline, confidence, and self-defense skills in a safe and supportive environment.
• Adult Martial Arts Classes — Adult classes to improve fitness, learn self-defense, or pursue martial arts passionately; flexible schedules are offered.
• Women's Kickboxing Classes — Women-only sessions blending cardio, strength training, and self-defense to build fitness, confidence, and practical skills.
• Self Defense Seminars — Regular self-defense seminars focusing on specific aspects of personal safety and open to both regular students and newcomers.

About the provider

The academy says it was established in 1969 and has served the area since 1969. Its mission is to help students reach their full potential, and it says it specializes in self-defense, fitness through martial arts, building confidence, and creating champions. It is a proud member of the Evergreen Park Chamber of Commerce and serves Oak Lawn, Mount Greenwood, Beverly, Evergreen Park, and the greater Chicago area.
