Camp Robert Drake offers activities such as kayaking and fishing at Poncho Pond, Card Board Boat Races, and a Gaga Ball Pit. Participants can take part in Water Volleyball during Pool Games, learn marksmanship during the rifle merit badge, ride ATVs, and join archery during Cub Scout adventure camp. The program also includes a Scoutmaster cookoff, Order of the Arrow (OA) Big Games, a float tube trip on the Salt Fork, volleyball at the Sand Pit, and a Cubmaster belly flop competition.

Scouting in the Prairielands Council connected to Camp Robert Drake began with the first troop being organized in 1919, with the Champaign County Council chartered under that name until 1923, when the C-U Council was chartered. The camp was named Camp Robert Drake and dedicated on May 28, 1932, and ILLINI Lodge 92 of the Order of the Arrow was chartered in 1936. A new dining hall, originally an old Civilian Conservation Corp building moved to the camp site, was added in 1968, and concrete block cabins were built on cabin row on the bluff above the Salt River. Strip mining of part of the camp property created “Pollywogs,” which are used for canoeing and rowing and to build the “crib” for swimming, and in 1992 the Arrowhead Council and Piankeshaw Council merged to create Prairielands Council. Service clubs such as the Rotary Club and the Lions Club sought funding for the purchase of the land and later for other facilities needed for the scout camp. The Order of the Arrow (ILLINI Lodge 92) is a service organization associated with the camp. By registering a reservation online, the reserving group acknowledges that it will comply with all Camp Drake Rules and Regulations and all Boy Scouts of America Youth Protection policies, including Two-Deep Leadership, during its stay.
