Special Friends Camp, a ministry to adults with intellectual disabilities, celebrated its 30th anniversary this year. Special Friends Ministries is dedicated spreading the love of Jesus through service to individuals with disabilities in a unique outdoor setting. Special Friends Ministries strives to provide a unique outdoor experience for all campers, staff, and family members/care takers that will strengthen the community and grow individual and collective faith. The Assume I Can Podcast by Special Friends Ministries is available on Spotify and includes updates and interviews from Special Friends Camp, aims to spread positivity and open people's eyes to the world of disabilities, and hopes to show listeners that their worlds aren't that different after all. One camper shared, “It was my first year, but I really had fun . And like you said, I have experience with outdoors stuff, so you put me on the extreme team. I loved that and I love the great outdoors.” A parent shared, “Kyle was so happy to have been a part of camp this year, and for the first time in quite a while I felt so happy for him..... I'm sure Kyle will want to camp again next year.”
