Camp Akita is a Youth Camp & Christian Retreat Center that is owned and operated by the Illinois Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. It is available for use by members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the community and has facilities for seminars, retreats, family reunions, and weddings. The focus of the summer youth-camp program is to give young people an opportunity to experience God’s nature and exciting activities wrapped up in an environment that is unashamedly Christian. Nearly every weekend people come to be refreshed by great fellowship and the camp’s natural beauty. Camp Akita was formerly the Fellheimer Scout Reservation and is described as one of the Illinois Conference’s greatest resources for reaching children, youth, and adults. Staff applications for Summer 2026 are open for those who love Jesus and want to share their experience with children, teens, and families, and the camp’s leadership includes Tim Pittenger as Camp Manager/Ranger. Packing is supported by a “what to bring” guide that lists all of the necessities.
