Youth Programs at Godley Park District include activities such as Karate, Youth Basketball, Family Bingo Nights, Open Gym, Open Gym Pickleball, use of the Game Room, and seasonal events like the Winter Carnival, Wee Winter Carnival, Sweeties Dance, and Fish Frys. The program also offers access to playgrounds, outdoor basketball courts, and outdoor volleyball courts, along with special options such as Ballroom Dance Class, Gong Meditation, Gong Celebration, Breath & Bodywork with Mary Griffin, and The Original Secret Pantry.
• Ages: 2–13 years old
• Schedule: Programs and events run on specific days and times, including multi-week Karate sessions from October 28–December 18 and January 6–February 26, Breath & Bodywork sessions from January 22–February 26 and March 12–April 16, and Youth Basketball camp on Saturdays in January and February starting January 3.
• Price: Karate $44 per session for one day per week or $64 for two days per week; Family Bingo Nights $10 for ages 13 to adult and $6 for ages 5 to 12; Open Gym Pickleball $2 per player; Gong Meditation $25 per person; Breath & Bodywork $45 per person per session or $10 drop-in; Ballroom Dance Class $50 per person or $80 per couple; Youth Basketball $40 for 1st–3rd grade and $55 for 4th–5th and 6th–8th grades; Open Gym free for Village of Godley residents and anyone 17 and under, and $2 for non-residents 18 and older; Winter Carnival and Wee Winter Carnival $8 with pre-registration or $10 the day of the event; Sweeties Dance $5 per child; Gong Celebration is free with a free will offering accepted.
The Game Room is equipped with pool tables, foosball, air hockey, game tables, TVs, and a variety of game systems, and it is open to all ages 6 and up, with an adult required to accompany and supervise children under 6. Youth Basketball camp is open to boys and girls from all communities, and Open Gym is held in the gymnasium. The grounds include two large playgrounds, as well as outdoor basketball and volleyball courts. The Original Secret Pantry is free for anyone in any community who may be in need.
Karate is taught by Sensei Willis, Breath & Bodywork is led by Mary Griffin, and Ballroom Dance Class is taught by John and Liz Hand. The leadership team includes Jerry Krug (President), Shawna Stanford (Vice-President), Darrell Schott (Secretary), Diana Haars (Treasurer), and Michelle Read (Commissioner).
