Camp Loud Thunder offers activities such as boating, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, SCUBA, and snorkeling. Participants can also take part in rifle, shotgun, pistol, and archery shooting, as well as C.O.P.E., climbing, zip lining, and observation of the stars using a high-resolution telescope in an observatory building.

• Ages: 5–17 years old
• Schedule: The Scout BSA Summer Camp program at Camp Loud Thunder runs from early June through early July and is followed by two Cub Scout Resident programs.

Camp Loud Thunder is the Illowa Council's premier Scout camp and has been home to Scouts for generations. The camp is available to the public for business meetings, educational activities, camping, and other functions where close proximity to the outdoors is desired. The Illowa Council states that the heart of Scouting is usually found in its outdoor programs and describes Camp Loud Thunder as a great venue for Scouting.
