McHenry Township Junior Warriors offers travel youth tackle football, tackle football, girl's fall flag football, and spring flag football. The program is a non-profit travel youth tackle football program run by parent volunteers. It includes five levels of play with both a Saturday and Sunday program, and last year the program had 12 teams and 220 players.

• Schedule: Season runs from the end of July to mid-November, with practices Monday–Friday 5:30pm–7:30pm and games on both Saturday and Sunday
The McHenry Township Junior Warriors (MTJW) organization has been a part of McHenry County since 1965. The program is for players between the ages of 5–14 who are still in 8th grade. MTJW is a member of The Chicagoland Youth Football League (TCYFL), and participants have a listed set of rights within the program, including the right to use equipment capable of protecting the player as intended.
The MTJW Board and Coaches lead the program. General meetings are held once a month during the off-season, are open to everyone, start at 7pm, and generally last no more than 1 hour, and coaches are strongly encouraged to attend. The program’s stated goal is to teach each player the fundamentals of football, safety, sportsmanship, character, and teamwork, and athletes are taught to exemplify sportsmanship, character, and a sense of community while developing their football skills.
Coaches are required to have active certification from USA Football, NYSCA, or ASEP, and USA Football certification is the preferred method for TCYFL. PCA certification is required for all 2022 coaches that did not coach in TCYFL in 2021. USA Football certification includes concussion training and meets the 2022 requirement of TCYFL, and Advanced Concussion Training is required for coaches with NYSCA or ASEP certification and highly recommended for coaches with USA Football certification.
