Marriott Theatre for Young Audiences presents classic American musical theatre along with original and re-imagined musicals in special one-hour productions. The program has presented numerous original works and classic fairy tales for young audiences, and has produced more than 75 Theatre for Young Audiences shows to critical and kids’ acclaim. Through these one-hour productions, over 2 million children have experienced live theatre.

Founded in 1975, Marriott Theatre is a founding member of the National Alliance for Musical Theatre and assists and fosters artists in creating new works for its stage. The theatre has earned a record 599 Joseph Jefferson Award nominations, which are Chicago's highest theatrical honor for artistic achievement. Broadway has long considered the theatre a prime venue for launching Broadway shows into the regional market, and its 1989 production of MATADOR subsequently played London’s West End. The world premiere of ANNIE WARBUCKS, following a national tour, opened off-Broadway in New York to rave reviews.
