About
Camp Carew offers Christian summer camps where campers kayak in Little Grassy Lake and hike in a state park near the camp. During their time at Camp Carew, campers work together, plan together, play together, study together, sing together, and worship together. Camp Carew welcomes campers from all religious traditions and is a drug- and alcohol-free environment.

Established in 1952, Camp Carew provides a setting in which the Christian faith can be experienced in fellowship with others. Its mission is to help people deepen their awareness of God, each other, and the natural world by providing a camp program and a setting in which personal growth can take place. The stated goal is that campers will strengthen their own sense of personal worth as well as their relationship to Jesus Christ and to others.
Camp Carew is a ministry of Kemmerer Village in covenant with the Presbytery of Southeastern Illinois, the Presbytery of Great Rivers, and the Synod of Lincoln Trails. Camp Carew can also host retreats for persons of all ages throughout the year.
