Kid Country Camps & Breaks includes games, STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) activities, outdoor play, music and movement, and special activities. The program also offers field trips and other trips as part of its camp experience.

• Schedule: Open Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., with weekly camp themes running from the week of 6/8 through the week of 8/18

Kid Country Camps & Breaks is part of a preschool and child care center that has been in operation for over 20 years. All staff members hold a current CPR certification. Every classroom has one more teacher than mandated. The center has well-equipped classrooms with kid-sized natural wood furnishings, organized materials, learning centers, adjoining bathrooms, and new luxury plank vinyl floors in a gray and green color scheme. The playground includes over an acre of fenced-in space with age-appropriate toys, climbing structures, and a veggie garden.
Full-day summer camp programs include field trips and special activities, and the program supplies meals and snacks and covers the cost of field trips. A healthy, peanut-free food program is included in tuition, with nut-free snacks that cater to allergies and sensitivities. An onsite cook prepares food in a nut-free space with allergies and dietary needs in mind. Families can choose the number of weeks they want to enroll for and pay only for that time. Families who register by May 1st receive a free camp T-shirt.
The program uses restricted access doors that require programmed fobs to open and has internal-use security cameras throughout the center. Professional cleaners come in every day, and the center uses air purifiers and electrostatic sprayers to eliminate microbes. The building features luxury plank vinyl flooring, a Founders’ Wall, and a fresh paint job in soothing sage green throughout. The founder and owner, Donna Naleway, states, “I lead with my heart and children in mind.”
Kid Country Camps & Breaks is an ExceleRate Illinois Silver Circle of Quality center and is the area’s only Illinois ExceleRate Silver Circle awardee. It has been designated a Silver Circle of Quality recipient three consecutive times. The program is also an Honorary Illinois ExceleRates Silver Circle of Quality Recipient, a BusinessRate Best of 2026 award winner, and a Best of Lincoln-Way Readers' Choice winner for 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024.
