Parents and campers have shared that a former camper chose this camp for their children because it is where they went as a kid and they described it as a true summer camp focused on getting back to nature and spending a week away from parents to make their own memories and experiences. One parent reported that their son has gone for three summers and absolutely loves it, and that he never feels excluded or unwelcome. Another parent said their daughter came back excited for next year, loved it, and gained confidence in making friends. A camper described their first time ever going to a camp, said they really enjoyed it, liked all the counselors, and cannot wait to come back next year. A parent described their family’s first experience with Camp Shaw as very positive, mentioning great communication when they had questions and great resources for first-time young-camper parents. Another parent said they really loved their son attending, were happy for him, and were appreciative that Camp Shaw still exists and continues the tradition of summer camp fun, and they thanked the staff for working to make it happen. A camper who has been going for four years said they have loved every bit of it, called it an amazing camp with amazing people, and said the food is amazing.
