The encampment is connected with the Civil Air Patrol, whose mission statement is, “Volunteers serving America's communities, saving lives, and shaping futures.” The leadership team includes Col. Andrew J. Stewart, Civil Air Patrol-U.S. Air Force (CAP-USAF) commander. Civil Air Patrol’s community involvement includes the Hawaii Wing and national geospatial team providing critical flood and storm damage assessment information to the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
