Turning Pointe Academy of Dance

Turning Pointe Academy of Dance offers ballet lessons, jazz dance lessons, hip hop dance, tap dance lessons, modern dance, acro gym, mommy and me, "Fun"damentals, private lessons, adaptive dance, musical theater, and Leaps and Turns. Ballet is offered in various levels and includes two classes per week for levels I-V with a monthly fee of $50. Acro Gym is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays for ages 8 and up at $65 per month.

• Ballet Lessons — all ages · Mon-Fri, recurring classes · $50 per month · Offered to all ages in various levels. The foundation of dance. Monthly fee of $50 includes two ballet classes per week for levels I-V.
• Jazz Dance Lessons — all ages · Mon-Fri, recurring classes · These classes feature a concentration in jazz technique. Contemporary Jazz blends modern principles and jazz dance styles.
• Hip Hop Dance — 6 and up · Mon-Fri, recurring classes · Offered to ages 6 & up in various levels.
• Tap Dance Lessons — all ages · Mon-Fri, recurring classes · Offered to all ages in various levels.
• Modern Dance — all ages · Mon-Fri, recurring classes · Offered to all ages in various levels.
• Acro Gym — 8 and up · Tue and Thu, recurring classes · $65 per month · Offered to ages 8 & up in various levels.
• Mommy and Me — 2 to 3 · Fri 9:45-10:15am · Children will discover movement and expression through a structure that blends dance and music.
• "Fun"damentals — 3-4 · Wed and Thu, recurring classes · Perfect for little ones who are not quite ready for the structure of full-length classes. Students work on basics of ballet, tap and tumbling.
• Private Lessons — Sign up for private lessons with one of the staff members for one on one tips and corrections; missed lessons can be made up by private lesson.
• Adaptive Dance — Dance for Everyone, an adaptive dance experience that incorporates ballet, tap and jazz movements.
• Musical Theater — Tue 6:30-7:30 · 8-Week Session.
• Leaps and Turns — Sat 9:00-10:00am · 8 Week Session.

About the provider

Turning Pointe Academy of Dance has served students in the metro-east since 2008. The owner is Dianna Andrews-Gaither, who received a BFA in dance from Webster University with departmental honors, studied at The Ailey School, and has twenty years of teaching experience. The studio says it is named the #1 Dance Studio in Southwest Illinois. Its mission is to teach, share, and encourage a passion for dance and performance in a non-competitive atmosphere.

• The Nutcracker — Turning Pointe Academy of Dance is pleased to present The Nutcracker at SIUE.

Dance classes are cancelled when local schools cancel due to weather. Absences are not refundable. Missed lessons can be made up. Written notice is required one month prior to a dancer's last date of attendance. Tuition is due the 1st lesson of every month. There is a $5 fee for payments received after the 15th of the month and a $25 fee for returned checks. Automatic ACH withdrawal is available. No crop tops or booty shorts are permitted in any class.
