The Mascoutah School District gifted the Leu Civic Center building in August of 1958, and the city intended it for civic use. A non-profit was formed in 1978 to keep civic programs going for the community in that building. The Leu Civic Center is a proud United Way Organization and offers multiple free community events such as a Halloween Event, Metro-East Youth Art Show, National Night Out, Family Art Nights, and other pop up events throughout the year. The non-profit supports all learners, and instructors are paid by Leu Civic Center, Inc. for the programs they are instructing. The Leu Civic Center is not a school, is not accredited, and does not provide grades or signed transcripts. The building is structurally sound and structurally safe for the non-profit to resume programming, and there is an additional concern of making the building ADA compliant. Jenna Smith is the facility information contact, and Reagan Hightower is the education information contact. Scholarships are available.
