About
Black Spur Equestrian Center Camps and Riding Lessons offers summer camps for kids and adults along with a range of riding lessons, including ranch, dressage, English, Western, and Dressage/Western Dress riding lessons. The program also offers horse training, horse shows such as Ranch, Hunter/Jumper, Fun Shows, Open, Dressage, and Youth shows, as well as clinics that include Ranch, Hunter/Jumper, Fun Shows, and more. Participants can also take part in trail rides through 60 acres of groomed trails and a 4-H club.

Owners Lee and Jenny Garlach acquired the equestrian center in 2019. Manager and Horse Trainer Kristin Silk has worked with horses since age 5 and rides a handful of disciplines. Black Spur Equestrian Center hosts an annual Fundraiser Horse Show where 100% of the proceeds are donated to New Kingdom Trailriders and partners with New Kingdom Trailriders. Guests who will be riding must complete a release of liability form before riding and are required to follow all Black Spur rules. A daily calendar shows when arenas will be in use, and boarding costs can be paid directly from a bank account by filling out a form and returning it by email or dropping it off in the black lock box at the barn.
