About
Paint The Town is a program of the Children’s Art Preservation Association (CAPA) where participants “paint the town” and create artwork that is displayed for others to view. Nearly 1,500 participants contribute art that becomes part of an outdoor gallery enjoyed for months.
• Ages: 5–18 years old
Founded in 1993, the Children’s Art Preservation Association (CAPA) exists to serve both young artists and the community. CAPA’s mission is to provide resources and recognition for the artistic talents of children and students in the community. The board is made up of local educators and citizens who believe that children deserve recognition and encouragement for their creative work in the visual arts. Paint The Town attracts an audience of 6,000 visitors annually who come to view the art done by participants, and community members and visitors see this outdoor gallery as they stroll along Morrison’s Main Street.
