The program’s stated mission is to focus on skills and the ability to think, with an emphasis on science, innovation, and coding so that kids can be technology creators rather than consumers. Codinu describes its environment as all-inclusive, fun, and collaborative, with a focus on empowering children through coding and providing high-quality STEAM education, especially to underserved communities.
Codinu was featured on Naperville Community Television (NCTV17). The program hosted a Daddy Daughter Code-a-thon event that gave young girls and their fathers or father-figures time together in a computer coding and robotics session along with food, music, and tech-focused activities. Codinu notes that Sakina is actively involved with organizations like Girls Who Code and Code.org, and that Nitesh is involved in his local community, including coaching and mentoring kids in soccer and Cub Scouts.
