Veterans Park District Camps include summer day camps, school break camps, sport camps, off site field trips, all camp swim days, park filled days, themed arts and crafts, silly competitions, crazy-named games, park party events, and a Summer Day Camp Swim Academy with swim lessons. The program also offers Pee Wee Tot Camp with art, music, outdoor play, and interactive projects, as well as Pee Wee Splish ‘N’ Splash with unstructured swim in warm, shallow water using age-appropriate toys.

• Ages: 0–15 years old
• Schedule: Summer Day Camp options include an Early Bird Mini-Session from May 26–29 and three regular sessions running from June 1–July 31, generally Monday–Friday with camp hours from 9 AM–4 PM and optional before care from 8–9 AM and after care from 4–6 PM; Pee Wee Tot Camp meets Monday–Thursday from 9 AM–12 PM in two sessions from June 1–25 and July 6–30; Pee Wee Splish ‘N’ Splash meets on select Fridays from 9:30–11:30 AM.
• Price: Summer Day Camp Early Bird Mini-Session is $133 for residents and $150 for non-residents, with optional before care at $25/$35 and after care at $50/$70; regular Summer Day Camp sessions are $400/$450 with before care at $75/$105 and after care at $150/$210; the Junior Counselor Program is $200/$250; Pee Wee Tot Camp is $300 per session or $75 per week; Pee Wee Splish ‘N’ Splash is $5 per child and $3 for each additional child.

Summer Day Camp staff are described as trained, experienced and caring, and the staff are described as well trained and caring. The program is described as a safe, fun and affordable trusted community park district program, with a maximum of 100 campers per Summer Day Camp location. Lunch and an afternoon snack are included for Summer Day Camp, and free lunch is provided by School District 87 for Pee Wee Tot Camp. Summer Swim lessons are free to day campers thanks to the Step Into Swim and Stew Leonard III Water Safety Foundation Grant, and transportation to and from swim lessons is included for day campers. The Junior Counselor Program is intended to develop the ability to work in teams, communicate, plan, and organize, and Junior Counselors are required to support school-aged campers, seasonal counselors, and supervisors at their assigned camp sites. Pee Wee Tot Camp is described as a preschool-aged camp where fun and learning come together, using summer-themed topics to spark curiosity and create excitement for hands-on learning in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Pee Wee Splish ‘N’ Splash uses the kiddie pool open exclusively before public swim hours, with caregivers required to remain in the water within arm’s reach at all times and lifeguards on duty. Summer Camp registrations are required to be taken in person during business hours at specified facilities. Veterans Park District states that it is committed to enhancing the quality of life of its residents by offering recreational and leisure services and serves the communities of Northlake, Melrose Park, Leyden Township, Franklin Park, and River Grove.
