Science Olympiad

Science Olympiad offers Elementary Science Olympiad (ESO) for grades K–6. The offerings include hands-on, inquiry-based STEM learning, 16 comprehensive competitive events aligned to Science Olympiad Division B and C standards, a season guide with 38 practice plans, 50+ non-competitive activities for STEM nights and family events, 90+ activities for friendly competition, 15 lesson plans with worksheets, 10 activities with accommodations and modifications, and an in-a-box set with materials and equipment for 10 activities serving up to 20 students.

Programs

About the provider

Science Olympiad was founded in 1984, and the Urban Schools Initiative began in 2006. Its mission statement says Science Olympiad is the leading team STEM competition in the nation, providing standards-based challenges to 7,000 teams at 450 tournaments in all 50 states. Professional Development is available through virtual or in-person training workshops led by Science Olympiad staff.
