Camp Ondessonk Summer Camp Programs include hiking scenic trails, horseback riding through dense forests and along scenic trails, swimming in a lake, archery, and rock climbing on rock-climbing walls. Campers also paddle across lakes, take part in challenge and high ropes courses, and spend time sleeping under the stars and telling stories around a campfire during a week of non-stop excitement.

• Price: Our camper fees are extremely competitive and unlike many other summer camps, Ondessonk does not charge additional fees for horseback riding or senior camper electives.
Since 1959, Camp Ondessonk has provided children and children-at-heart the opportunity to experience firsthand the beauty of God’s creation, with over 60 years of tradition. The summer camp programs welcome children and teens from across Indiana and offer sleep-away camps for ages 8–15, as well as Adventure and Trip & Travel experiences for ages 12–16. Campers immerse themselves in nature while participating in outdoor activities tailored to a wide range of interests and skill levels, guided by experienced staff. Camp Ondessonk is owned and operated by the Catholic Diocese of Belleville in Illinois, and Catholic traditions and teachings guide the work of this ministry, while people of all faiths are encouraged and welcome to enjoy Camp Ondessonk. The camp also offers outdoor education programs to school and youth groups during fall, winter, and spring, along with conference and retreat facilities, special interest weekends, and open houses. Camp Ondessonk is described as the premier summer camp destination for Indiana families and the Premier Adventure Destination of the Midwest, and it highlights Accreditation & Safety as a focus area.
One camper, Eva, shared that she learned she does not have to act a certain way, that it is okay to be herself, and that she learned to respect nature, including spiders and snakes. A parent, Kim Kinnaman, described how an 11-year-old camper returned after one week having blossomed, with confidence and independence that carried over into school and social settings. Another camper, Karma, described being nervous at first but then not wanting to leave, and said the people, activities, and opportunities were incredible and that the experience made her a better Christian and brought her closer to God.
