• Ages: 4–18 years old
• Schedule: Camps run in 4-day sessions, Monday through Thursday; Beginner, Advanced Beginner, and Intermediate Camps meet 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Pony Camp meets 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• Price: Beginner, Advanced Beginner, and Intermediate Camps are $400.00 per rider per week, Pony Camp is $250.00 per rider per week, Riding Booster options range from $100.00–$125.00 extra per week, helmet rental is $8.00 per week, and there is a 10% discount for registrations before March 1, 2025.
The camp programs have been revamped to be more informative and educational, with a focus on giving riders more time with horses, more equine science, and more emphasis on care of horses so campers are more responsible for their horses on and off the ground. Each group is limited to 10 campers per week, and all riders are responsible for their horse for the entire day, including grooming, saddling, riding, and caring for equipment at the end of the day. Pony Camp is for ages 4–8 and includes pony rides, grooming, pony handling, possible donkey handling, lunch time, and a special art project. Advanced and Master's Camp is not available through park district programs and is only open to those currently riding consistently at the academy program throughout the year. Camp enrollment stops when a particular camp reaches full capacity.
Families are asked to send a lunch each day, pack plenty of fluids, and may send as much water as they want, and there is also a soda machine on the premises. Riders are asked to bring an approved equestrian helmet or may rent one for $8.00 per week. Riders in Intermediate Camp are expected to have riding pants, boots, a whip or crop, and riding gloves, and riders in Advanced and Master's Camp are expected to wear riding pants, boots, gloves, and a whip or crop. As of this year, there are no refunds; a credit will be issued that may be used for group or private lessons, and cancellations for camp must be made at least one week before the start of camp to be eligible for the refund policy described. The barn has been operating for 64 years, and there is a full functioning youth group that is active with youth group activities, an Academy Show Team, a Spring Horse Show, a Success in Saddles Clinic, a Medieval Times outing, an Open House, and a school show, and the program offers both fun and competition-focused riding.
