Rhodes-France Scout Reservation offers activities that include archery, rifle shooting, BB gun shooting, and swimming. The program uses an in-ground swimming pool that is available only during June and July when there is not a Council or District activity occurring. Participants also have access to shooting sports facilities that include both an Archery Range and a Rifle Range.
• Schedule: Day check-in is at 08:00 AM with check-out at 11:00 PM, and night check-in is at 05:00 PM with check-out at 04:00 PM.
Rhodes-France Scout Reservation is operated by the Greater Saint Louis Area Council, Boy Scouts of America. The property includes 640 acres with 2 lakes, an in-ground swimming pool, excellent shooting sports facilities, and a well stocked trading post. Rhodes-France has 13 campsites, and each campsite has at least one picnic table and a fire ring, with water available seasonally from April to October. McCoy Village Cabins 1, 2, 5, and 6 each have two sets of twin-size bunk beds, electricity, and air conditioning or heaters available during the proper season by talking to the Ranger, and bedding is not provided. McCoy Village Cabins 3 and 4 each have two twin-size beds that can be bunk beds, electricity, and air conditioning or heaters available during the proper season by talking to the Ranger, and bedding is not provided.
The Archery Range equipment includes 8 bows, 45 arrows, and 4 targets, and use of the Archery Range must have an NRA Range Safety Officer with a certification card present at check-in and remaining on the range with the certified individual while the event is in progress. The Rifle Range includes 8 single-shot .22 rifles, 800 rounds of ammunition, 200 targets, and ear and eye protection, and it can also be used for BB guns; use of the Rifle Range requires the group to provide its own NRA Range Safety Officer with a certification card present. The Activity Building (Dining Hall) is used as a dining hall with a serving line during mealtime and can be used for other purposes at other times. The Commercial Kitchen is equipped with a double convection oven, a 6-burner stove with oven, a warmer, a steam table, a griddle, three stainless steel work tables, a commercial mixer, and a meat slicer, and the wash room has commercial equipment. The Administration Building is located down Bungard Parkway just across from McCoy Village and has a giant Eagle statue out front.
