Youth Programs includes activities such as Babysitting, School’s Out, Holiday Program, Summer Camp, Elementary Night, and Sports. The program also offers Kids Fitness, Youth Basketball, Youth Soccer, Youth T-Ball, Youth Golf, Spin Classes, Pickleball, Racquetball, Fitness Classes, Swim Lessons, and the Shawna Morrison Memorial Honeybee 5K Race. Men’s Basketball League and Women’s Basketball League are also part of the offerings.

Youth Programs operates under the mission statement “Recreation and Enrichment for an active and healthy Community and Youth.” The organization is one of the largest 501(c)3 non-profit organizations in Edgar County and employs close to 50 individuals while serving nearly 1,800 members. It offers over 35 programs, classes, and events each year, and all monies, fees, membership dues, and donations received stay local. The leadership team includes Executive Director Erin Hutchison, Program Director Youth & Sports Whitney Haase, Membership Team Leaders Tiffany Gale and Kelly Nicholson, and Aquatics Director Alyssa Woodyard. Testimonials from members and staff describe the Rec Center as a place where people feel supported, look forward to visiting during the day, and are greeted by pleasant staff in the morning.
