• Price: Registration fee is $15 per camper (one-time, annual, non-refundable); weekly camp fee is $185 per session per child, with no additional fee for field trips except during holiday weeks or the first week at a site; a 10% deposit is due at registration, 50% is due 3 weeks before each session, and the remaining balance is due 1 week before each session; discounts are offered for multiple siblings, and financial assistance is available through two scholarship funds.
Camp of Champions USA describes its mission as providing a place for kids to be themselves in a safe, fun, Jesus-centered environment, with a focus on keeping them safe, engaging them through fun activities, and helping them grow in faith and character through a process of Jesus-centered discipleship. The program includes spiritual elements such as Bible teaching, focused discussions about Bible stories, time in prayer, and Weekly Character Awards given to each child to reinforce godly character. The camp uses a Top 5 Expectations safety framework: Groups of 3, Be a Good Example, Good Touch || Bad Touch, Good Words || Bad Words, and Treat It Right.
Summer staff members are students in high school and college. The leadership team includes Jonathan Welch as Executive Director, Jonathan Cordes as Lead Director, and Cara Ryken as Camp Registrar. Camp of Champions USA partners with churches to host camps and has many locations throughout Central Illinois.
An Activity Assistant Program is available for middle school students entering 7th–9th grade. Families can choose from a variety of automatic payment plans or self-pay with cash, check, or online, and if they choose self-pay at camp, they can use provided envelopes and a drop box at the camper sign-in table. The camp states that it will work with families financially if they are having difficulty.
Parent testimonials describe staff as positive, uplifting, safe, caring, and fun, and mention that the message is Jesus-centered and that activities include water activities, competitions, relays, playground time, and field trips. Parents report that their children have played hard, made new friends, wanted to return the next summer, and spent summers at camp over multiple years. One parent notes that a child has grown by learning more about Jesus and sharing Jesus with neighborhood kids, another mentions that their children get a lot of physical activity while learning about Jesus, and another shares that their non-religious family saw their child begin quoting Bible verses, praying meaningfully at mealtimes, and requesting Christian rock songs learned at camp.
