Camp 56 is a two-week summer day camp where participants take part in song, dance, makeup, and costuming. Campers have trips to the Festival sets, visits with cast and crew, and an onstage appearance as part of the chorus ensemble in performances of the Festival 56 production of Anastasia. Early registrants may also attend an optional Front of House workshop that includes training in ushering and greeting.
• Ages: 8–14 years old
• Schedule: Weekdays 9am–3pm for two weeks, from July 13–July 25, with five to ten performances from July 31–August 8
• Price: The camp fee is $150 per child; need-based scholarships and family discounts are available
Camp 56 is returning for its fourteenth consecutive year of offering a theater-based camp for young people. The camp is held in cooperation with Festival 56, which has 23 years of bringing professional theater to local audiences. Camp 56 acknowledges support from sponsors including the Sun Foundation’s Community Arts Access Regranting Program, funded by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council with funds from the National Endowment for the Arts, as well as local businesses and individuals, The Princeton Closet, Bob Glaser, St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church, and Monical’s Pizza. Five forms are required for registration: Registration, Liability, Medical Info, Schedule/Conflicts, and Camper Release. Registration forms can be picked up at the theater, requested by emailing [email protected], or accessed online at www.festival56.com under the education tab, and completed forms with registration fees are mailed to the Festival box office. Families who choose to pay online can do so by going to the ticketing site and clicking on Camp 56, with service fees applying to online purchases, and scholarship forms are available upon request to [email protected].
