Prospect Heights Park District Summer Camps include indoor and outdoor small group activities, games, crafts, arts and crafts, small group games, group games, swimming during non-public swim time, and open swim. Campers may also take part in volleyball, basketball, soccer, wiffle ball, floor hockey, flag football, dancing, painting, acting, playwriting, set design, acting for musical theatre, singing for musical theatre, dancing for musical theatre, memorizing lines, character development, and costuming. Some camps travel to water parks and entertainment venues, and activities can also include time in the gym, on the playground, and in nature.

• Ages: 3–14 years old
• Schedule: Core camp options run between 9:00am and 3:00pm, with Early Explorers from 9:00am–1:30pm, Performing Arts Production Camp from 3:00pm–6:00pm, Before Care from 7:00am–9:00am, and After Care from 3:00pm–6:00pm; Creative and Performing Arts Day Camp meets for 5-day sessions with a mini show at the end of each 1-week session

Early Explorers is for campers entering 3Y–4Y preschool, is described as the first experience of camp for 3Y–4Y campers, and includes swimming each day during non-public swim time; children in Early Explorers must be completely potty trained, with no diapers or pull ups. Explorers Camp and Adventure Camp promote a healthy lifestyle through active play and enriching social activities and both take off-site field trips. Sports Camp is for boys and girls who want to engage in a variety of sport activities, emphasizes the value of good sportsmanship and nutrition, and will take off-site field trips. Travel Camp provides a new adventure each day, spends three days at suburbs attractions such as water parks and entertainment venues, and includes all admissions in the camp fees. Creative and Performing Arts Day Camp includes a mini show at the end of every 1-week session with small skits learned during that week, and its fee includes one special event or field trip. Performing Arts Production Camp culminates in a full-scale musical theatre production, its fee includes a production T-shirt, and the Summer 2024 show is JUMANJI, THE MUSICAL. Before and After Care programs are designed exclusively for children enrolled in the Prospect Heights Park District day camps, and extended activities in these programs include games, crafts, gym, swimming, playground, and nature; children should bring a snack for the after care portion of the day.

Prospect Heights Park District is celebrating its 60th Anniversary, and the City of Prospect Heights is celebrating its 50th Anniversary. Prospect Heights Park District lists “Awards and Recognitions” as a section in its information and hosts community events such as the Prospect Heights Block Party, Prospect Heights National Night Out, and the Golden Years Wellness Expo; National Night Out involves neighbors, local law enforcement, and community partners.
