Impact Basketball offers youth basketball classes that focus on dribbling, shooting, defense, rebounding, and basketball terminology. The program includes small group basketball lessons, individual private basketball lessons, basketball travel teams, Impact Shooting Instructions/Machine Classes, and seasonal options such as summer and winter basketball camps, a high school back to school mini camp, and a 4 month Basketball Academy Skill Camp. The Skill Academy is described as a 3 month Saturday Basketball Camp and is a big part of the Impact Basketball system.
• Ages: 7–18 years old
• Schedule: Skills Academy sessions run on Saturdays from 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm in three separate 3‑month groupings, and Impact Basketball also offers seasonal camps and try-outs during Spring/Summer and Fall.
• Price: $220.00 for Impact Basketball: Skills Academy.
Impact Basketball offers developmental and elite travel teams for girls and boys during Spring/Summer and Fall, competing at different levels in local tournaments, including AAU basketball tournaments, across the Chicagoland area. The program has girls and boys basketball camps for beginner through advanced players ranging from 2nd grade into high school, and each player is trained, monitored, and evaluated in the four pillars of the IMPACT Training System. Impact Basketball conducts high-intensity, drill-based basketball camps that focus on the fundamentals of basketball while also developing the skills necessary to advance performance on the court.
Impact Basketball is described as Oak Park's and West Chicago's most inclusive basketball development program and as a true grassroots basketball program with developmental basketball and elite basketball teams. IMPACT has become one of the largest basketball programs in the western Chicago suburbs, including both boys and girls basketball teams from second to twelfth grade, and many of its players go on to play college basketball. Impact has been around for over 20 years, was founded in 1999 through the expanding vision of James Foster and Don Soucek, and has been described as an elite basketball program because of the success of its developmental system. The coaches have developed some of Illinois' and the United States' top basketball players, and the program states that its system proves that elite players make elite teams, building players through hard work and committed parents and training them from the ground up to be complete players.
Impact Basketball describes itself as a family with people caring about people joining forces to facilitate change in youth and help develop future leaders. It states that it equips children with valuable on-court experiences using winning basketball strategies against leading teams, and that these strategies are proven to help youth do better on any court. IMPACT was founded through the determination of a group of young ladies to bring change to Oak Park, River Forest, and other surrounding communities in the west suburbs of Chicago, Illinois.
For Impact Shooting Instructions/Machine Classes, a player works on shooting form and takes approximately 300 to 500 shots per hour. A player needs to have completed the Impact Shooting/Movement or Blaze The Rim Shooting Camp before machine work starts and must be good at following instructions regarding using corrected form, and machine work is not for beginners.
