Rock Falls Youth Football and Cheer

Rock Falls Youth Football and Cheer includes football skills camps, a cheer “Grace & Grip” clinic, a football camp, and non-contact grass drills with the Rock Falls High School football team. The Football Skills Camp offers a light introduction to basic football skills that progress each week and concentrate on form. The Cheer Grace & Grip Clinic focuses on motions, jumps, and stunts using correct and safe techniques in a high-energy, competitive, and encouraging environment.

• Ages: 10–13 years old
• Schedule: Seasonal program with registration from March 20–June 30, optional camps and clinics in June and July, practices beginning in late July, and games running from mid-August through late September

The program’s stated goal is to equip students with the skills needed to participate competitively in high school and beyond. Students in grades 5–8 who reside in Rock Falls are encouraged to join the league, and teams are organized by grade level to play other area teams. Leadership includes Derick Cox, Title IX Coordinator, and Rock Falls High School states that it does not discriminate on the basis of sex in admission to or in its educational programs or activities. A noted achievement is a 2023 undefeated season, referenced as “2023 Undefeated Season Go Rockets! Go Rockets!”

For the Football Skills Camp, participants are asked to bring water and wear shorts and a T-shirt or other athletic clothes, along with football cleats if they have them. For the Cheer Grace & Grip Clinic, participants are asked to wear athletic clothes and tennis shoes and to bring water. For Football Camp at Hinders Field, kids wear shorts, T-shirts, and cleats. Before equipment handout and practice, families are instructed to bring a completed sports physical form, and all kids must have this completed physical form before they can practice. Game jerseys are not handed out until raffle ticket stubs and/or money are turned in.
