The Metro Arts Youth Apprenticeship Program brings together artistically talented young people and places them in productive, creative, paid apprenticeships in the arts. The program is part of Quad City Arts, which operates visual arts galleries, community events, an educational residency program with multi-disciplinary performing arts, and public art through sculpture and murals. The program is open to any student residing in the Quad City area who meets the stated age guidelines.

Quad City Arts is a non-profit arts organization serving a six-county area in eastern Iowa and northwestern Illinois and is dedicated to enriching the quality of life in the Quad City region through the arts. Quad City Arts operates visual arts galleries, community events, re-granting programs, an educational residency program presenting multi-disciplinary performing arts, and activates public spaces through a sculpture program and murals. Its programs serve more than 350,000 people annually in the Quad Cities, including reaching 35,000 K–12 students each year with free arts education experiences and opportunities to earn scholarships, stipends, and monetary prizes. Since 1970, its history has included the founding of the Quad City Arts Council in 1970, the launch of Visiting Artists, Inc. in 1974, and the debut of Festival of Trees in 1986. The organization’s leadership team includes President Sam McCullum, Vice President Jenni Swanson, Treasurer Laura Ekizian, Secretary Brooke Sweeney-Adrian, and board members Blanca Leal, Latoya Lewis, Carolyn Martin, Brett Marshall, Matt Maslowski, Jacqueline O'Donnell, Keli Price, Mary Pruess, Lance Sadlek, and Kaleigh Trammell.
